I wanted to share a world with my son.

Going to the sea and looking for stones had become something we loved doing together. Could we bring that pleasure into Roblox, a world my son already loved? That was where it began.

Stepping into a world he already loved.

When my son was playing Roblox, I would sometimes glance at the screen to see what he was doing. There were games about fighting and carrying weapons, and others about stealing and escaping. As a parent, I felt uneasy.

But this was a world he enjoyed. Was dismissing it outright really the answer? I decided to step into it myself and think about what we might enjoy doing together.

Bringing our stone hunts into Roblox.

Over the past few years, going to the sea and looking for stones had become a shared hobby. What if we could do that in a digital world, too? Inside Roblox, perhaps it would catch his interest and give us another way to play together. That thought became the starting point for this game.

As we began making it, I wanted to treat the stones with care. They should have their real names, and there should be a reason, grounded as much as possible in the real world, for finding them in a particular place. Playing could lead naturally to the question: what kind of stone is this?

From learning about something to making something.

But I also wondered whether too much emphasis on learning might take away the fun. So I imagined combining the stones with glass to create things we had never seen before.

We could display what we made, buy and sell within the game, and enjoy playing shop, with a little connection to making things in real life. GlassAndStone is our way of bringing those ideas together.

You don’t have to fight.
You don’t have to take.
You don’t have to rush.Let your inner world grow.

I look forward to playing here with my son, and to meeting again with people who have visited Yukie Glass. A place to share time together, even when we are far apart.
